UHI utilizes local resources to address health, social, and economic needs directly within communities by strengthening social networks and fostering resilience. Our community-based programs are structured into 3 key categories.
In this program, we provide knowledge on nutrition, physical activity, tobacco cessation, and chronic disease management.
We train local residents to deliver health services (counselling, screenings, and education), and act as bridges between communities and health facilities.
In this program, we provide peer-to-peer support, mobile teams, and community-based mental health care integrated into schools and workplaces to promote recovery and reduce isolation.

This program is designed to address multiple risk factors simultaneously, including poverty, social isolation, and mental health issues.
This program focuses efforts on enhancing economic, social, and environmental conditions. These include vocational training, job training, and infrastructure improvements.
In this program, we provide safe environments, life skills training, and after-school opportunities to foster stability for children and teenagers.
In this program, we provide transitional care for vulnerable children, child sponsorship programs, and illness care/education initiatives that strengthen family structures.

In these programs we involve community members in their own design and implementation, which has proven to be more effective in enhancing community well-being.
In these programs we create local groups dedicated to improving the quality of life through civic engagement and addressing local concerns.
